I just wanted to give you a friendly reminder about what we truly do as instructors.
It has been such a trying time in this world the past few years and as creatives, we must think about what we’re able to offer people, how we are offering it, and truly, what our responsibility is.
It’s to be able to lead.
We’re not just teaching dance fitness… I mean, think about it. What we’re really doing is we’re teaching compassion, acceptance, tolerance and inclusivity… right? The fact that everyone has potential regardless of their sexual orientation, background, race, gender, age (or whatever!) – they’re all welcome in our classes AND they have potential. And the fact that we are able to impact lives and say this important message is really friggin cool.
You do that. Did you know that? YOU DO IT.
This is your gift.
So for those of you who are currently teaching, please remind yourself of this and keep doing it!
Now if you aren’t teaching yet, now is the time. Look, you are certified, so why aren’t you teaching? People need you now more than ever as they are coming out of the woodwork and craving people and movement (some still want virtual). So get a class going whether in-person or online and start sharing your gift to the world! Don’t know how?
