Wow! You’re Like…

Wow! You’re Like…

“Wow, so cool! You’re like…famous!! Just realized from Googling you.”  [This was an actual statement from another mom on a playdate as I almost spit up my coffee.]

It’s always a fun conversation when my work-life and my mom-life collide. Famous??  Umm…no.  But I  absolutely love what I do and I’m grateful for the flexibility of my career after having 2 children.

Now that I’m several years into running my business while being a mom, I get questions like, “How the heck do you make it all work?”  So it got me thinking…do I truly look like I have it all figured out? (Cuz it sure feels like I don’t)

So I’d like to share 4 facts about this so called “celebrity” (lol) that appears to make it work.  [Warning: I’m going to be completely transparent as it’s the only way I know how to be]

Ready?

Fact #1:  Being in my forties is friggin scary, but I find it transformative.

Fact #2:  I don’t know how I’m going to feel when my kids move out.  I know, I know…it’s still about 15 years away but life is moving way too fast.  I get emotional thinking about not having that role anymore.

Fact #3:  I only made a few sales on my online training this past quarter…. I could get scared and wonder WTF I’m doing but I believe in what I create and why, so I will keep going dammit.

Fact #4:  Owning a business and motherhood are a lot more alike than people think.  They are the biggest influencers for my personal growth – hands down!  Both roles force me to deal with my own crap, get me out of my comfort zone, and constantly test me.

So do I have it figured out?  Nah!  But the times when I think I do, everything changes…again! (hitting my head against the wall, now)

But what I can say is that I always have a clear vision of what I want my life to look like, and continue to work at it.  It’s work, don’t get me wrong.  Some days things just seem to flow seamlessly, and others, not so much.  But I think if you listen to your heart, get clear on your vision and stay committed, all will be ok.  Even though the growth part can be sh*tty.

Now I’d love to hear some factoids about you and how the heck you guys “make it all work” (lol!)

Shake it baby!
