Mizrahi Bellydance with Oreet
Step into the world of Mizrahi bellydance with a special workshop that celebrates the vibrant culture of Mizrahi Jews. In this session, you’ll experience a unique bellydance choreography set to the rich, rhythmic beats of Mizrahi music – a blend of Arabic, Turkish, Greek and Hebrew influences. Oreet will teach you a fun and upbeat choreography with influences from different regions across the Middle East and North Africa. Whether you’re an experienced dancer or looking to expand your dance repertoire, get ready to dance, sweat, and immerse yourself in the unique sound and movement of Mizrahi dance and music. Oreet is the creator of SharQui, a format for both bellydance and bellydance workouts and has 25+ years teaching dance and fitness. SharQui has been featured on NBC, ABC, CBS and CNN, among other outlets with packed classes worldwide. She grew up with Israeli and Yemeni folk and Oriental dance and her new passion is educating the world about Jewish Mizrahi dance and its relevance in Arabic Culture. SharQui Workout: Our traditional high-energy bellydance workout.
SharQui 2: Our traditional high-energy bellydance workout but kicked up a notch with intricate moves as well as speed.
SharQui Veil: A traditional SharQui Workout infused with safe veil technique. Enhance your workout from the added upper body toning. Veil is optional as options for students without veils will be provided. Newbie to experienced friendly.
SharQui Styles: Our traditional high-energy bellydance workout but fused with an inspiration of another dance genre. Each week will be a new dance style fusion.
SharQui Strength: Traditional fitness fused with bellydance elements to increase stamina and strength. The use of a chair and light hand weights are used.
SharQui Core: This cross training class combines light weights and Pilates mat exercises with bellydance movements, all focused on strengthening the abdominals and back for SharQui.
Crash Choreo: Learn a 1-2 minute choreography that gets your heart rate up.
Stretch: Start and end your week with a deep stretch class that incorporates standing and floor positions to open and lengthen the muscles from all angles. A wonderful and important compliment to our SharQui program to help you stay flexible, injury and pain free.
SW Instructor Shuffle: Our high-energy bellydance workout with a twist! Shuffle your routine and keep things exciting with a new instructor every week!
