Hey there,
So, as you know, to succeed in any industry, you’ve got to put yourself out there. And for us as instructors, it’s social media. We all know this. It’s common knowledge.
Putting yourself out there can mean different things to different people, but essentially it means that you’re taking a bold, decisive step to let the world know that you exist.
And you know what?
It can be scary AF.
Multiple times, I hear from instructors who say:
“I know I need to put myself out there but I can’t stand seeing myself on video.”
“What if people don’t believe me and laugh?”
“I’m scared of technology. I don’t even know how to start.”
For me, the answer is…
It’s the ONLY way people will find out about you.
As I always say, you can be the best instructor there is, but if you don’t promote yourself, you have nothing. The sooner you accept this, the better.
I mean, think about the positive impact you could be making on students’ lives. You can’t do that if you’re hiding out.
Look, there’s no secret trick.
You just gotta do it.
It may not be easy, but it’s necessary.
Now, will you face some negativity and criticism? Perhaps. And next week I’ll give you a few mindset tips to help you in case that happens. But I will leave you with this:
You have every right to earn a living, so give yourself the right and take the leap to put yourself out there.
Now go and be amazing.
