We all know that music licensing is a major concern for dance teachers. We already had worries about using music in class and on social media, and teaching online has definitely exacerbated the situation.
Going into this new year I thought that one new album would be enough. However, I quickly realized that SharQui instructors are going to need a lot more music. My goal is to create more SharQui music which are bellydance songs that can stand on their own.
We recently released Enta Omri, Maerakat Alraqs, and Sa’adi Jabaan. If you’ve heard these songs already, you’ll notice that they have meaty melody lines and distinct percussion. We’ve been thrilled with the results and hope you are too!
Now here’s where you come in. We need to make a lot more music, and we can’t do it on our own. So, if you would like to help out and get something really cool in return, here’s my proposal… If you contribute $75, you can choose the melody line for us to sample and we will name the song a title of your choice, and you choose a dance photo of yourself for the cover art.
Here’s how it works: You send $75 and in two months SharQui will release your 4-5 min song that can be used for both class and performance. Remember, this is royalty-free music, so you can use it for all your projects as well as edit it to suit your needs (Shop our existing catalog of royalty-free music here).
What you need to do:
- Send payment. https://www.sharqui.com/product/commission-a-song/
- Send us a song or style that you’d like us to sample to oreet@sharqui.com
- You listen to the sample for revisions
- Send photos for the cover
- Wait 6-8 weeks
- Use music!
There’s truly nothing more inspiring to a dancer than music. Professional bellydancers in the Middle East and abroad have music composed to enhance the thematic flavor and any fusion elements in their performances. Commissioning a song will give you an opportunity to really put your unique signature into your classes and performances. You are sure to sparkle when you throw in your personal touch.
I can’t wait to collaborate with you on this project!
