What I’ve Learned In My 20 Years Of Teaching SharQui

What I’ve Learned In My 20 Years Of Teaching SharQui

These are gentle reminders of how I want to live my life and some days are better than others. But I never stop trying. I hope these will help those who are currently on their journey and for those who want to start.

Never stop learning, never stop growing and take it one step at a time.

Truth Smack #1: It’s easy to think about taking a SharQui class. Doing it takes courage.

Truth Smack #2: You’re only as beautiful as you allow yourself to be. So stop waiting to shake your beauty and just do SharQui!

Truth Smack #3: Close girlfriends are important. Doing SharQui with close girlfriends is friggin gold.

Truth Smack #4: Don’t worry about what other people think while in class. They’re usually thinking about themselves, anyway.

Truth Smack #5: Educate those who don’t understand about the art-form of bellydance.

Truth Smack #6: Stop comparing yourself to others in class. It’s more than ok to be who you are. In fact, it’s preferable.

Truth Smack #7: If you focus on your health and well being instead of dieting, you’ll never have to worry about your weight. Boom!

Truth Smack #8: Get some physical exercise every day. SharQui anyone? wink wink.

Truth Smack #9: Your mind and body are the same. What you put in is what comes out.

Truth Smack #10: Nobody really loves you for the size of your waistline. (I learned this way too late)

Truth Smack #11: Hey, you don’t know how until you know. So just get your ass to class so you “know”.

Truth Smack #12: Going outside your comfort zone is hard work. And you can do hard things.

Truth Smack #13: The joy of “nailing it” resides on the other side of fear.

Truth Smack #14: Acceptance is hard work, but it’s the only path to peace. (a biggie for me)

Truth Smack #15: Doggies make everything better. (hehe)

So which one is your favorite?

Do you have another one you would add to this list?
